Former Federal Correctional Officer Charged with Attempting to Smuggle Contraband into Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn

On January 29, 2025, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York, was arrested following a criminal complaint filed in the Eastern District of New York. According to the Complaint, on or about January 21, 2025, Najee Jackson, while acting as a public official, knowingly and intentionally attempted to provide prohibited objects including tobacco cigarettes, marijuana, and lighters to prison inmates inside MDC Brooklyn. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s New York Office.
