On December 7, 2023, a former Executive Director of a Victims of Crime Act subgrantee was arrested following an indictment, charging her with two counts of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. Christy Robinson, former Executive Director of the Heart of Texas Children’s Advocacy Center located in Early, Texas, was indicted in the 35th Judicial District Court located in Brown County, Texas. According to the indictment, on or about December 8, 2020, Robinson, knowing that an investigation of the Heart of Texas Children’s Advocacy Center audit was in progress, intentionally or knowingly altered, destroyed or concealed documents, namely financial records, business records and personal documents, with intent to impair their availability as evidence in the investigation and any subsequent investigation or official proceeding. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Fraud Detection Office and the Texas Rangers.
