Former Contract Correctional Officer Pleaded Guilty to Providing Contraband to an Inmate

On June 10, 2024, a former contract Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility, a USMS contract facility that houses pre-sentenced inmates, pleaded guilty to one count of providing contraband to an inmate. Kaii Almedia-Falcones pleaded guilty in the District of Rhode Island. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, on or about February 14, 2021, Almedia-Falcones possessed with intent to distribute and provided 200 Suboxone strips containing buprenorphine and 4.5 grams of marijuana to an inmate housed at the Wyatt Detention Center. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Boston Office, the FBI, the USMS, and the Professional Standards Unit at the Wyatt Detention Center.
