On June 14, 2024, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago, Illinois, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 24 months of probation, 30 hours of community service, and $614 in fines and assessments for one count of felony disorderly conduct, filing a false police report. Daniel Bolger pleaded guilty and was sentenced in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. According to the Indictment, on or about September 7, 2023, Bolger transmitted a report to a peace officer that an offense of theft had been committed, knowing at the time of the transmission that there were no reasonable grounds for believing that the offense had been committed. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Chicago Office and the Rolling Meadows Police Department.
