Former BOP Correctional Officer Convicted and Sentenced for Possession of Child Pornography

On March 20, 2025, a former BOP Correctional Officer at the Federal Correctional Institution in Pekin, Illinois, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing child pornography. Daniel Scott pleaded guilty in Tazwell County, Illinois, and was sentenced to 60 days imprisonment, followed by 30 months of supervised release. According to the Information, from in or about September 2023 through in or about April 2024, Scott possessed photographs of prepubescent children that depicted the lewd exhibition of unclothed sex organs. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Chicago Office and Homeland Security Investigations.
