Former BOP Correctional Officer Charged with Providing a Prohibited Object in Prison

On May 29, 2024, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Hazleton (FCI Hazelton) in West Virginia, was charged with one count of providing a prohibited object in prison. Michael Webster Rakosi was charged in the Northern District of West Virginia. According to the Information, in or about June 2021, Rakosi knowingly and intentionally introduced tobacco into FCI Hazleton. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Washington Office.
