Former BOP Contracted Case Manager Pleaded Guilty to Making False Statements

On December 20, 2023, Donna Schucker, a former Case Manager who was employed at the North Lake Correctional Facility (NLCF) in Baldwin, Michigan, pleaded guilty to making materially false statements.  Donna Schucker pleaded guilty in the Western District of Michigan. NLCF was a private custodial facility contracted by BOP and operated by The GEO Group, Inc. that closed in October 2022.  According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from on or about June 2022 through on or about July 2022, Schucker engaged in sexual acts on multiple occasions with an inmate at NLCF and later lied about it when asked by OIG agents.  The OIG’s Detroit Office is conducting the investigation with assistance from the OIG’s Cyber Investigations Office.
