On August 27, 2024, a former executive of a nonprofit entity receiving DOJ and other federal funding was sentenced to one year of probation and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $2,161,553.65 for one count of misprision of a felony. Keith Noble was sentenced in the Western District of Missouri. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from in or about 2005 through in or about June 30, 2017, Noble knew that three executives of Preferred Family Healthcare, Inc., conspired to defraud the United States, and Noble did not inform the charity’s board of directors or law enforcement despite a duty to do so. This investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Kansas City Locale, FBI, IRS, and DOL-OIG.
