On February 14, 2025, a non-DOJ individual was arrested following an Indictment charging him with conspiracy to bribe a public official, bribery, and honest services wire fraud. David Macey was charged in the Southern District of New York (SDNY). According to the Indictment, from in or about October 2018 through in or about January 2020, Macey, and previously indicted DEA TFO Edwin Pagan paid thousands of dollars in bribes to a Senior Special Agent (Agent-1) with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), in exchange for Agent-1 providing sensitive law enforcement information, including information about sealed indictments, forthcoming arrests, investigations, and the results of DEA database searches, through an intermediary to Macey to assist Macey in recruiting and representing clients. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Charleston Locale and the FBI.
