On August 19, 2024, a BOP Materials Handler Supervisor assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Florence (FCI Florence), in Colorado, was arrested following an indictment charging him with one count of bribery. Nicholaus Valentine was indicted in the District of Colorado. According to the Indictment, from on or about December 6, 2021, through on or about March 3, 2022, Valentine accepted money in exchange for bringing contraband into FCI Florence and providing contraband to inmates. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Denver Office with assistance from the OIG’s Dallas Office, Ocala Locale, and Fraud Detection Office.
