On December 18, 2023, an inmate previously confined at the Federal Correctional Institution Sheridan (FCI Sheridan), Sheridan, Oregon, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy and one count of bribing a public official. Dontae Hunt pleaded guilty in the District of Oregon. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from in or about March 2019 through in or about December 2019, Hunt was involved in a conspiracy to pay a correctional officer money in exchange for smuggling tobacco, cellular phones, and other contraband into FCI Sheridan. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Seattle Locale and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
