On February 4, 2025, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution in Sheridan, Oregon, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 35 months incarceration, 3 years of supervised release, and ordered to register as a sex offender for three counts of encouraging child sexual abuse in the first degree. Brendan Haynes pleaded guilty and was sentenced in the Yamhill County Circuit Court in Oregon. According to the Indictment, from in or about February 2023 through in or about September 2023, Haynes unlawfully and knowingly duplicated a visual recording of sexually explicit conduct involving a child while knowing or being aware of and consciously disregarding the fact that creation of the visual recording of sexually explicit conduct involved child abuse. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Los Angeles Office and the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office.
