On November 29, 2023, a BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Williamsburg (FCI Williamsburg), in South Carolina, was arrested following an indictment charging her with one count of Bribery, one count of Distribution of Methamphetamine, one count of Distribution of Suboxone, and one count of Money Laundering. Angela Crosland was indicted in the District of South Carolina. According to the Indictment, from in or about September 2021 through in or about June 2022, Crosland sought bribery payments from inmates at FCI Williamsburg to smuggle contraband, to include methamphetamine and suboxone, into FCI Williamsburg. Crosland further allegedly engaged in money laundering when she received bribery payments which were designed to conceal or disguise the source of those payments. Also included in the indictment is a forfeiture order which would require Crosland, if convicted, to forfeit at least approximately $56,791, which is the total sum of bribery payments Crosland received. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Atlanta Office.
